HYDERABAD: BJP MP Etela Rajender has strongly criticized Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing him of endangering public properties and playing with people’s livelihoods. He alleged that the government had issued Hydra notices to temples in Jagadgirigutta, putting religious structures at risk.
On Saturday, Rajender held a meeting with temple administrators in Jagadgirigutta, where he condemned Revanth Reddy’s approach. He stated that it was unfair for a government, elected by the people, to turn against them. He also pointed out that Revanth Reddy, who once represented the same region as an MP, should not be causing distress to the residents of Jagadgirigutta.
Rajender accused the government of failing to curb illegal land encroachments while targeting small houses and temples built by the poor. He also criticized the conduct of officials, specifically mentioning Ranganath, whom he acknowledged as a capable officer but questioned his recent actions. He recalled an incident where a woman allegedly died by suicide during Hydra-led demolitions in Nalla Cheruvu. He blamed the government for the tragedy, calling it a “murder by Hydra and the administration.”
Etela Rajender further alleged that the government’s plan to clear encroachments under the pretext of Musi river rejuvenation was merely an excuse to pave the way for corporate constructions.
He urged the government to focus on setting up treatment plants to purify the water rather than displacing the poor. Additionally, he questioned why no action had been taken against chemical waste from industries in Jeedimetla.
Etela Rajender advised the Chief Minister to govern responsibly for the remaining three and a half years of his tenure. He assured the people of Jagadgirigutta that he would stand by them and protect their temples from government actions.
