CM Revanth Reddy to launch major works in Devarakonda on Dec 6

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will lay foundation stones for several key development works in Devarakonda on December 6. The visit forms part of the ongoing Praja Palana – Praja Vijayotsavalu programme, Roads & Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy announced on Thursday.

Development works Devarakonda visit to prioritise irrigation

Ahead of the visit, Komatireddy and local MLA Balu Nayak inspected the public meeting venue, reviewed helipad and seating arrangements, and instructed officials to provide sufficient drinking water and crowd facilities.

Komatireddy told the media that Devarakonda remains the most underdeveloped of the 12 constituencies in the erstwhile Nalgonda district. He criticised the previous BRS government for failing to deliver basic services, especially in tribal areas.

SLBC, Dindi, Nakkalagandi works to boost water access

The Minister accused the earlier administration of neglecting key irrigation needs. Even though the Kaleshwaram project excluded Devarakonda, Telangana farmers still produced a record 1.5 crore metric tonnes of paddy.

To meet irrigation demands, the Congress government restarted the stalled SLBC tunnel project. Komatireddy confirmed that the works would finish on schedule, using advanced technology. Additionally, he pledged to expedite the Nakkalagandi and Dindi projects to support agriculture and groundwater recharge.

Welfare projects include schools, ration cards, and bus travel

Besides irrigation, the government has launched welfare initiatives without delay. It began issuing ration cards immediately and is supplying fine rice to eligible families.

Komatireddy announced that ₹200 crore has been allocated per constituency for establishing Young India Integrated Residential Schools. Each campus will host 3,000 students and provide international-standard education. Furthermore, he highlighted that the government reimbursed ₹8,000 crore to TSRTC to maintain free bus travel for women.

Call to adopt Devarakonda under CM’s development model

Komatireddy and Balu Nayak plan to request the Chief Minister to adopt Devarakonda for focused development, just like Kodangal.

“Devarakonda has waited too long for justice,” Komatireddy said. “This government is committed to transforming it.”
