CM Revanth Reddy congratulates newly elected panchayat representatives

Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Tuesday congratulated newly elected sarpanches, deputy sarpanches, and ward members across Telangana following the completion of the recent panchayat elections.

Taking to X, the Chief Minister extended his greetings to those who assumed office on Monday. He urged them to deliver good governance and work towards transforming gram panchayats into model villages. He also expressed hope that the newly elected representatives, aware of the recent panchayat election results, would earn the trust and respect of the people through their service.

Panchayat election results strengthen Congress at grassroots

Meanwhile, Congress candidates put up a strong performance in the three-phase panchayat elections held across the state. According to party leaders, the results, particularly the panchayat election results, reflected growing public support for the ruling government at the grassroots level.

The elections took place in three phases on November 11, 14, and 17. In these polls, the Indian National Congress emerged as the single largest party. It won 6,821 seats out of the total contested.

In contrast, the opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi secured 3,520 seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party won 703 seats. Other candidates and smaller parties together accounted for 1,654 seats.

Consequently, Congress leaders said the verdict showed clear public approval for the government’s performance. They added that the panchayat election results strengthened the party’s position at the village level and reinforced confidence in its governance agenda.
