Hyderabad: Minister for Roads & Buildings and Cinematography Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Thursday said Christmas continued to inspire humanity with values of love, peace, sacrifice and service.
The Minister participated in Christmas celebrations at the historic Centenary Baptist Church near the Clock Tower Centre in Nalgonda. During the event, he cut the Christmas cake and offered special prayers for the happiness and prosperity of the people.
Extending festival greetings to Christian brothers and sisters, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said he was happy to celebrate Christmas along with thousands of devotees. He added that Christian missionaries and institutions had rendered invaluable service to society. In particular, he said their contribution to healthcare and education was significant.
He said the teachings of Jesus Christ stressed peace, love and forgiveness. According to him, these values continued to guide the world even today.
Christmas teaches love and unity, says Komatireddy
Referring to Telangana’s history, the Minister said December held special significance for the State. He recalled that December 9 marked both the announcement of Telangana Statehood and the birthday of Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, who played a key role in achieving statehood.
Meanwhile, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said the people’s government, under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, was working decisively for the welfare of all sections. As examples, he cited welfare initiatives such as Indiramma Houses and the distribution of fine rice.
Acknowledging financial challenges, the Minister said the government had steadily restored fiscal and administrative stability over the past two years. He added that this progress was possible through collective efforts.
Finally, he prayed that, with the blessings of Lord Jesus Christ, people would live in happiness and that Telangana would continue to progress on the path of development.
