Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday rode with a leather worker in his car as part of “In the service of the poor” (Pedela Sevalu) outreach programme in East Godavari district.
The interaction began in Dharmaram, where the Chief Minister invited P. Babu, a leather tradesman, to join him for the journey to Malakapalli village in Kovvur constituency. During the ride, Naidu engaged in detailed conversation with Babu about his occupation, day-to-day challenges and family circumstances.
On arrival, Naidu visited Babu’s home and met his family members. At the residence, one family reportedly requested the Chief Minister to name their newborn daughter. Naidu proposed the name “Sharlin Prashta” for the child.
The gesture formed part of a broader effort by the government to directly engage with lower-income families under the Pedela Sevalu initiative.
