Hyderabad: Telangana BJP President N Ramchander Rao said the central government is ready to initiate a CBI probe into alleged irregularities in the SCCL and Naidi coal tenders—if the state government formally requests it.
He made this statement during a BJP state office bearers meeting held on Thursday at the party’s Hyderabad headquarters. Rao demanded a full investigation into the tender process under both the former BRS government and the current Congress-led administration.
He said the public deserves clarity on how tenders worth crores of rupees were awarded. He also questioned whether beneficiaries had links to leaders from the ruling parties. Rao directed party workers to expose irregularities from both the BRS and Congress regimes.
He further asked BJP workers to educate people at the grassroots level about central government welfare schemes.
BJP questions investment claims from Davos visits
Rao also raised concerns about the foreign visits of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. He demanded a white paper outlining the investments secured during two Davos trips. “We don’t oppose foreign visits,” he said. “But people should know where the investments went and how many jobs were created.”
The BJP state office bearers meeting also reviewed the performance of various committees and affiliated groups. Leaders discussed strategies for upcoming programmes, especially ahead of the municipal elections.
