Hyderabad, January 30: BRS leaders across Telangana staged protests on Thursday, submitting petitions at Mahatma Gandhi statues to highlight what they described as the Congress government’s failure to fulfil its election promises.
Led by BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), the party accused Congress of not implementing any of the 420 commitments it made before coming to power.
The protestors specifically pointed out unfulfilled schemes such as the distribution of one-tola gold, the increase in pensions to Rs 4,000, and the Farmer Assurance Scheme worth Rs 15,000. They also criticised the government for not implementing the six guarantees promised during the election campaign. According to BRS leaders, these lapses reflected Congress’ negligence towards public welfare.
Additionally, the party alleged that those questioning the government’s failure were being targeted. They claimed that false cases were being filed against BRS leaders advocating for people’s rights. Despite these challenges, BRS leaders vowed to continue their fight for the promises made to Telangana’s citizens.
