Hyderabad: Fisheries Development Corporation Chairman Mettu Sai Kumar has accused BRS and its leader K.T. Rama Rao of betraying the Telangana movement. He said the party insulted martyrs and had no right to comment on Congress or Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
Speaking at Gandhi Bhavan, Sai Kumar described KTR’s remarks as “cheap theatrics.” He claimed KTR had lost touch with ground reality and was speaking without mental clarity.
He challenged KTR to touch the Rajiv Gandhi statue if he had courage. “Every Congress worker will respond like a human bomb,” he warned. Sai Kumar said Telangana voters had already rejected BRS in Assembly, Parliament, and by-elections.
Congress leader slams BRS for insulting Telangana martyrs
Sai Kumar said BRS insulted the families of Telangana martyrs. He asked why KTR belittled the sacrifices by saying only 16 died during the movement.
He criticised BRS for renaming itself from TRS. “You erased the name Telangana from your party. That alone shows your betrayal,” he said.
He reminded KTR that his stage companions had once opposed Telangana. “You shared platforms with those who ridiculed the movement,” he said.
He alleged that BRS had disrespected Srikanth Chari’s mother and poet Gaddar. “This is not leadership. It is betrayal,” he said.
Sai Kumar praised CM Revanth Reddy for keeping promises. He said the government was delivering real progress, not empty slogans.
He added that people delivered a clear verdict on December 3. “They rejected BRS, and they will do it again in the local polls,” he said.
