BRS leaders speaking like chameleons in Jubilee Hills bypoll: Congress MP Kiran Kumar Reddy

Hyderabad: Congress MP Chamal Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday accused BRS leaders of misleading voters in the Jubilee Hills by-election, claiming they were desperate to avoid losing their deposits. He compared their conduct to “chameleons” and cautioned voters to stay alert.

Speaking at a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, Reddy alleged that the BRS regime, under KCR, plundered the state over a decade without offering employment. “All key posts went to KCR’s family. This isn’t a party it’s a gang,” he declared.

Citing recent election setbacks, Reddy said BRS’s political decline was evident. “They placed third in the Cantonment elections and didn’t win a single MP seat,” he said. “Now, they hide in their farmhouse and only appear during elections,” he added with a jab.

He further criticised BRS for invoking TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu’s name to sway voters. “Such theatrics are not lost on the public,” Reddy remarked.

According to the MP, the large turnout for Congress candidate Naveen Yadav’s nomination event had shaken the BRS. He said the party was in disarray and nominated Vishnuvardhan Reddy in haste, without strategic clarity.

Reddy also slammed BRS for targeting Danam Nagender while previously inducting leaders like Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Sabita Indra Reddy. “This is nothing but double standards,” he said. He clarified that Nagender’s disqualification would be handled by the Speaker.

In conclusion, Reddy alleged that BRS was ferrying non-residents into Jubilee Hills to manufacture crowd support. He urged the constituency’s voters to see through these “fabricated narratives” and respond with informed choices.
