HYDERABAD, February 10: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader Enugula Rakesh Reddy has criticised the government for its inaction against individuals who assaulted Chilkur Balaji Temple’s chief priest, Rangarajan. In a recent tweet, Reddy expressed his dismay over the incident, stating that the attack has disturbed Hindus across the state.
Reddy highlighted Rangarajan’s long-standing service at the temple and his efforts to promote Sanatana Dharma through his discourses. He noted that Rangarajan has been instrumental in questioning governmental interference in temple affairs and advocating for the autonomy of Hindu temples. Reddy condemned the assault, labelling it as a heinous and unforgivable act.
He further questioned the government’s responsibility in providing adequate security to religious leaders like Rangarajan, who disseminate the essence of Sanatana Dharma in simple language to the masses. Reddy demanded immediate and strict action against the perpetrators and called for the government to ensure the safety of such scholars.
The incident in question occurred a few days ago when several individuals attacked Rangarajan at his residence. His son was also assaulted while attempting to intervene. Following the attack, Rangarajan filed a complaint at the Moinabad Police Station.
