Hyderabad: BJP MP Madhavaneni Raghunandan Rao on Monday called for swift action from the Special Investigation Team in the ongoing phone tapping case Telangana. He demanded that all accused be sent to jail without delay.
While campaigning in Gajwel-Pragnapur Municipality, Rao cited a 2014 Assembly statement by then Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao. At the time, KCR had said, “Anyone committing a crime will be sent to jail, even if it is one’s own son or daughter.” Rao claimed the same standard must now apply to KCR himself.
Phone tapping case Telangana probe must move faster, says BJP MP
The BJP leader slammed the Congress government for failing to develop Gajwel. He said that despite political slogans, the economic condition of both Gajwel and Kodangal remained stagnant. “KCR called Gajwel ‘GADA’ and Revanth labelled Kodangal ‘KUDA’, but neither has seen actual progress,” he said.
Rao also defended the Union Budget. He alleged that opposition leaders were misleading the public. Three of seven high-speed trains sanctioned for South India were allotted to Hyderabad. Additionally, he pointed out a 15% increase in the railway budget and said Telangana had received ₹1,300 crore more than in previous years.
He further criticised KTR, Harish Rao, and Kavitha for making contradictory remarks on the budget. According to him, their conflicting views show confusion within the BRS leadership.
