BJP’s Alleti Maheshwar Reddy challenges Uttam Kumar Reddy to open debate on HILT policy

Hyderabad: BJP MLA Alleti Maheshwar Reddy on Friday challenged State Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy to an open public debate on the Hyderabad Industrial Land Transformation (HILT) policy. He accused the Congress government of concealing irregularities.

BJP questions transparency, demands Assembly discussion

The BJP legislator dismissed Uttam Kumar Reddy’s remarks that the opposition failed to understand the HILT policy. He said such statements reflected a “bankruptcy of thought.” He questioned why the Assembly was not being convened to discuss the policy if the government had nothing to hide.

Maheshwar Reddy proposed a face-to-face debate with the minister at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Assembly media point. However, he said he was open to any time and place suggested by Uttam Kumar Reddy.

HILT policy slammed as “land scam in disguise”

The BJP MLA alleged that the HILT policy represented a “Rs.6.29 lakh crore land scam,” calling it “land looting, not land conversion.” He accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of acting as a “land loot mafia don.” He also claimed the policy was driven by a real estate nexus under the Congress regime.

He also criticised Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu for remaining silent despite previously promising to expose irregularities in industrial land transfers during the BRS rule.

BJP warns of agitation if GO 27 not revoked

Maheshwar Reddy demanded the immediate withdrawal of Government Order 27, which enables the implementation of the HILT policy. He warned that the BJP would launch a statewide protest if the government failed to present the policy in the Assembly for open debate.
