Hyderabad: Come June 2, the state’s formation day, Telangana’s Revenue Department is rolling out Bhubharati revenue forums across all mandals. Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy dropped the update on Wednesday, saying it’s time to take the land settlement drive state-wide.
He said the Bhubharati Act, launched by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on April 14, was crafted with one clear goal: clear the clutter of land mess that’s been piling up for a decade. Trial runs started April 17 in four mandals across four districts, wrapped up by the 30th.
Next came the second phase from May 5 to 30 in 28 more mandals. Based on feedback there, it’s full steam ahead now. Forums in every mandal starting June 2.
These aren’t just awareness camps. There’s a fixed deadline, and every valid application falling under the Bhubharati framework will be tackled head-on. If it can’t be resolved, people will get that in writing why it’s not eligible or what’s blocking it. Illegal claims? Out of scope. Dead ends will be called out as such.
In those initial four mandals, the department’s already wrapped up a chunk of cases. They’re aiming to close about 60% of pending disputes across current mandals by May 30. Collectors have strict instructions to sort through every possible case before the month’s out.
The minister also flagged one sticking point sadabainama cases are still tied up in court. The moment the stay lifts, the state will move in, but only for applications submitted online.
He said public response to recent revenue reforms over the past year and a half has been far better than expected. Whether it’s land settlements or slot booking in sub-registrar offices, the changes seem to be hitting home.
Blamed the previous government for making a mess of the whole system saying people were shut out of services for years. His words: this government’s only focus is to fix that gap and bring back accessibility.
