Telangana to implement Bhu Bharati Act statewide from June 2: Minister Ponguleti

HYDERABAD: Telangana Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Thursday announced that the state will implement the Bhu Bharati Act across all districts starting June 2, with the aim of resolving land disputes and providing strong support to farmers.

The minister launched the Bhu Bharati portal, a revenue conference, and a village assembly in Khajipur village of Maddur mandal in Narayanpet district. Speaking on the occasion, he stated that the Bhu Bharati Act was introduced to assist the poor and transform Telangana into a state free of land disputes.

Reddy said that the Act is set to become a model for the nation and that each revenue village will have a designated official to oversee land-related matters. He asserted that the Bhu Bharati system would offer effective solutions to farmers’ land issues.

In the first phase, the government plans to appoint 6,000 licensed surveyors. These surveyors will receive training by May 2 to ensure accurate maintenance of land records, the minister said.

He further announced that starting May 1, collectors will organise awareness programmes on the Bhu Bharati Act at the mandal level. From May 2, the Act will be implemented in one mandal per district across all 28 districts, leading to full-scale statewide implementation from June 2.

Minister Ponguleti underlined the government’s commitment to land reforms and emphasised that this initiative is a major step towards transparency and justice in land administration.
