Hyderabad: Panchayat Raj Minister D Seethakka stated that the Bhu Bharathi portal introduced by the Telangana government would become a model for the entire country. She explained that the portal was launched to permanently resolve disputes related to agricultural and non-agricultural lands.
Speaking at an awareness conference on the Bhu Bharathi portal held on Monday in Daulatabad, Medak district, Minister Seethakka noted that during the BRS administration, the Dharani portal was introduced, but it was riddled with several flaws. Instead of reducing disputes, it had led to an increase in land conflicts. After coming to power, the Congress government decided to abolish the Dharani portal and introduce the new Bhu Bharathi portal, she said.
Also addressing the conference, Minister for Forests, Konda Surekha, said that the state government would fully support the central government’s efforts to eliminate terrorism in the country. She emphasised that the true objective of the government would be achieved only when the benefits of the Bhu Bharathi portal reach the common people.
Konda Surekha added that the Revanth Reddy-led government introduced the Bhu Bharathi law to benefit farmers and the general public. She asserted that Telangana would become the first state in the country where not a single land dispute would remain once the portal is fully operational. She also mentioned that awareness campaigns are being conducted in every mandal under the supervision of district collectors to ensure the effective implementation of the law.
