Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Monday vowed to keep “political vultures”, hawks, and predators out of Telangana. He also pledged to grow the state’s wealth and share it fairly.
Speaking at a public meeting in Chinthakani mandal, Madhira constituency of Khammam district, Bhatti said the government launched ₹5,000 crore in interest-free loans for women’s self-help groups in all urban areas. The goal, he said, was to help women gain financial power and live like “queens.”
Loan target exceeded, support for women expands
Bhatti reminded the crowd that many had mocked the plan to turn one crore women into millionaires through ₹20,000 crore in loans. But the government not only met the goal it gave out ₹26,000 crore.
He urged Indiramma housing scheme beneficiaries to finish building their homes and said the government was clearing bills weekly.
Calling agriculture the backbone of Telangana, Bhatti said the government was sending ₹74,163 crore straight to farmers. This support comes through Rythu Bharosa, paddy bonuses, and 24-hour free power.
To help women travel safely and with pride, the government paid ₹7,000 crore to RTC for free bus rides, he said.
Bhatti slammed the previous government for handing out poor-quality sarees, which he said were not fit even for scaring birds. He said the current administration now delivers quality sarees with a bindi to every woman’s home.
