Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu promised to take full responsibility for Wyra’s development, both as its native and as Telangana’s second-in-command. Campaigning for Congress alliance candidates, he said only a Congress victory would ensure lasting growth for the town.
He declared that these municipal elections were a direct referendum on Wyra’s future. “You must decide whether Wyra should move forward or continue the neglect seen over the past ten years,” he said. According to him, every major development in Wyra—from roads to colonies—happened under Congress rule.
He said the previous government did not launch a single new initiative. In contrast, Congress brought Shanti Colony, SC and ST colonies, colleges, electricity, and hospitals to Wyra. He emphasised that development had always followed when Congress held power.

Bhatti Vikramarka lists major projects and pledges direct action
Bhatti highlighted recent achievements under Congress. He said the ₹200 crore Young India International School would uplift education in Wyra. A new 100-bed hospital would provide free healthcare to the poor people. He also mentioned that the government had approved a junior college and a polytechnic college for the town.
The Minister said the local ITI is being upgraded into an Advanced Technology Centre. He stressed that these projects would strengthen education and job readiness among youth.
He criticised the previous demolition of roadside shops, which left parts of Wyra disfigured. After receiving complaints from locals, he acted immediately. He reviewed the issue, called for the file, and got clearance for a new shopping complex.
Bhatti confirmed that work on the underground drainage system is progressing quickly. He also addressed farmers’ concerns. Most families depend on agriculture, so the Wyra irrigation project remains a priority. He said canal lining began earlier, and the second phase resumed under Congress. He guaranteed that funds would not be a barrier.
Recalling earlier efforts, Bhatti said Congress shifted the Gram Panchayat office from the tank bund to the main road and named it after Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. He credited former sarpanch Durgaprasad for leading that effort.
He also announced funding for a modern cremation ground and promised additional support for the Muslim community through increased budget allocations. Bhatti concluded by asking voters to support Congress in all municipal wards, promising that he would personally ensure Wyra’s transformation.
