Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Sunday said the future of students would shape the future of Telangana, and affirmed the government’s resolve to spend whatever is necessary to improve education infrastructure.
Speaking at Victoria Memorial Orphans’ Home in Kothapet on his birthday, he said education would enable Telangana’s youth to compete globally and stressed that the cabinet under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is fully committed to this goal.
He said the government was setting up Young India Integrated Residential Schools in every constituency on 25-acre plots, each costing Rs 200 crore. In the first phase, 100 schools are being taken up across the state with a total outlay of Rs 11,600 crore.
Bhatti announced an immediate sanction of Rs 5 crore for the construction of a compound wall at the Victoria Memorial campus, stating that the land would be protected from encroachment. The funds are being drawn from the CSR pool of the TRANSCO department.
He instructed officials to release the funds without delay and begin the works immediately.
Later, Bhatti had lunch with students of the orphanage. MLA Malreddy Ranga Reddy, former MP Madhu Yaskhi Goud and other leaders were also present.
