Bhatti hands over ₹1 crore accident insurance to TRANSCO employee’s family

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka handed over a ₹1 crore TRANSCO accident insurance cheque to the family of deceased employee Shankar Reddy on Tuesday.

The Deputy Chief Minister presented the cheque to Boda Swathi, wife of Shankar Reddy, at Praja Bhavan. Shankar Reddy worked as a Grade-II employee under the Huzurabad 132/11 KV Sub-Station of TRANSCO.

Shankar Reddy died on October 1, 2025, after an electrical short circuit while he was performing his duties in the Huzurabad area. Following the incident, the government processed the accident insurance benefit for his family.

Bhatti Vikramarka personally handed over the TRANSCO accident insurance cheque to Swathi. During the interaction, he also enquired about the family’s welfare and financial situation.

The Deputy Chief Minister advised Swathi to use the insurance amount for the children’s education and welfare. He also asked her to use the financial support to secure their future.

TRANSCO accident insurance supports deceased employee’s family

The ₹1 crore insurance payment provides financial support to the family following the employee’s death while on duty. Bhatti Vikramarka also stressed the need to use the amount carefully for the children’s future.

The Deputy Chief Minister’s interaction with Swathi focused on the family’s welfare and financial needs. He enquired about their circumstances before handing over the cheque.

TRANSCO CMD Krishna Bhaskar and senior officials attended the programme. Employees and other representatives of the power utility also participated.
