Hyderabad: Balanagar Police on Tuesday arrested two individuals involved in a house burglary case and recovered stolen property including ₹2.27 lakh in cash, a stolen motorcycle, gold-coated jewellery, and electronic items.
The case, registered as Crime No. 651/2025 under Sections 331(4) and 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), was cracked following a swift technical investigation and eyewitness input.
Break-in reported at Balanagar office
On December 2, 2025, at approximately 9:30 a.m., complainant Challa Venkata Avinash informed police that a glass door at his office—Lifts Trade Private Limited—had been found open. The office had been properly locked the previous night. Upon checking, he discovered that ₹4 lakh kept in the accounts section was missing.
Police launched an immediate probe and tracked the suspects based on surveillance footage, technical evidence, and ground-level inquiries.
Accused identified and arrested
Gonigunta Vamsi Krishna, 32, a cab driver from Allwyn Colony, Jagathgirigutta, originally hails from Appikatla village in Bapatla district, Andhra Pradesh.
Matta Bharath Rajiv Gandhi, also known as Bharath or Roy, is a 23-year-old bike mechanic residing in Alwyn Colony, Jagathgirigutta. He is originally from Vatluru village in West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh.
Modus operandi
The duo conducted prior reconnaissance in the locality, targeting locked homes and low-surveillance areas. After confirming minimal movement, they used iron rods to break into the office and almirah to steal valuables. They also fled the scene on a stolen Hero Glamour motorcycle parked nearby.
