Azharuddin warns legal action against Kishan Reddy over ‘traitor’ remark

Hyderabad: Telangana minister Azharuddin reacted sharply to Union Minister Kishan Reddy’s remarks calling him a traitor. Speaking to a news channel on Saturday, he condemned the comment and warned that he would take legal action against Kishan Reddy.

Azharuddin said the court had already given him a clean chit in the match-fixing allegations. “I have brought pride to India through cricket. How can someone like me be called a traitor?” he asked.

The minister accused the BJP of targeting him for the upcoming Jubilee Hills bypoll. He questioned Kishan Reddy’s knowledge of cricket, asking if the minister had ever held a bat. “When they have nothing else to say, they raise match-fixing claims,” Azharuddin said.

Responding to criticism that his ministerial tenure may last only six months, he remarked that time would answer every question.
