Hyderabad: Ashwaraopet MLA Jare Adinarayana raised key education and teacher-related issues from his constituency in the Assembly, drawing attention through an unusual folk-song intervention.
Participating in the discussion on Tuesday, the MLA said students in Ashwaraopet constituency faced serious hardship due to the lack of higher education facilities. He said Dummugudem and Chandrugonda mandals still did not have government junior colleges. He added that over 500 students passed Class 10 every year from these mandals.
MLA Adinarayana said students were forced to travel to Sathupalli in Khammam district or Kothagudem for higher studies. He said many poor students could not afford long-distance travel. As a result, they dropped out after school. He urged the government to start junior colleges in the two mandals by the next academic year.
