AIYF demands action against illegal entrance tests by private schools

Hyderabad: The Telangana State committee of the All India Youth Federation on Wednesday demanded strict action against private and corporate educational institutions conducting illegal entrance tests, alleging violations of the Right to Education (RTE) Act.

An AIYF delegation submitted a memorandum to K. Lingaiah, Additional Director in the School Education Department, at Lakdikapul. The delegation urged the department to intervene immediately and stop unauthorised entrance, talent and scholarship examinations.

AIYF leaders Dr. Syed Vali Ullah Khadri and Kalluru Dharmendra accused several institutions of commercialising education. They alleged that schools continued to conduct illegal entrance tests despite clear government instructions.

According to the leaders, such practices diluted Section 13 of the Right to Education Act, which prohibits screening procedures for admissions. Therefore, they demanded that the School Education Department issue immediate orders to halt these examinations.

Illegal entrance tests violate RTE Act, says AIYF

The AIYF leaders warned that the organisation would launch a statewide agitation if authorities failed to act against institutions conducting illegal entrance tests. They said inaction would encourage further violations and harm students from economically weaker sections.

AIYF State Working President Nerlakanti Srikanth and State Executive Committee Member R. Balakrishna also participated in the programme.
