AIMIM invites applications for municipal elections in Telangana

Hyderabad: With the proposed municipal elections in Telangana approaching, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen on Thursday called for applications from eligible aspirants to contest on the party ticket.

In a statement, the party asked aspirants to download the prescribed form from the official AIMIM Facebook page. It said candidates must fill the form and submit it with a non-refundable Demand Draft of ₹3,000 in favour of AIMIM.

AIMIM fixed January 20, 2026, as the deadline for the municipal elections applications. It instructed aspirants to submit the completed forms to the Town Majlis President of their district. It also said incomplete applications would not be considered.

Municipal elections: AIMIM lays down application and selection process

For the municipal elections, AIMIM directed Town Majlis Presidents to collect completed forms along with the Demand Drafts. They must forward all applications without delay to the AIMIM headquarters at Darussalam.

The party also allowed Town Majlis Presidents to download and distribute application forms to aspirants. However, it clarified that no office-bearer could announce any candidate’s name.

The statement said the party’s National President Asaduddin Owaisi would take the final decision on candidates. It added that he alone would officially announce AIMIM candidates for the municipal elections.
