Hyderabad: Senior BRS leader and former minister T. Harish Rao has hit out at the Congress government over the latest ACB notice issued to party working president K.T. Rama Rao, calling it a calculated political ploy orchestrated by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to distract from his own administration’s shortcomings.
Speaking on Thursday, Rao criticised the timing and intent behind summoning KTR again in connection with the Formula E race case, arguing that the move was less about accountability and more about silencing dissent. “It’s clear this is not about the case it’s about political vendetta,” he charged. “Revanth Reddy is using investigating agencies to rattle KTR, who’s been relentlessly questioning the Congress on their unfulfilled guarantees and pre-poll promises.”
Rao accused the state government of resorting to diversionary tactics in its 18-month tenure, rather than focusing on governance. “These notices are part of a broader strategy to undermine BRS and deflect public scrutiny from the Congress’s failures,” he said, adding that the people of Telangana have already seen through what he called the Chief Minister’s “political theatre.”
Defending the Formula E event, Rao said it was a landmark moment for Hyderabad, enhancing the state’s image and drawing investment. “The race put Telangana on the global map and attracted companies like Amara Raja into the electric vehicle space,” he noted, contrasting it with what he described as unproductive spectacles. “While the Congress government hosts beauty pageants that do nothing for the state’s image or economy, BRS brought in global investments and showcased Hyderabad as a manufacturing hub.”
He also drew historical parallels, pointing out that even former CM Chandrababu Naidu couldn’t manage to bring a Formula One race to Andhra Pradesh, whereas KTR and the BRS administration succeeded in making Formula E a reality for Telangana.
Rao concluded by asserting that the notice was simply retaliation for KTR’s public criticism of Revanth Reddy’s leadership and his questioning of the Congress’s governance record. “This is a desperate response to accountability. The ACB notice is not about justice it’s about silencing voices that expose failures,” he claimed.
