Hyderabad: The 35th Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Yatra Commemoration Day will be observed on October 19 at Charminar, the site where the late Prime Minister launched the original yatra in 1990 to promote national integration and communal harmony.
The event, organised by the Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Yatra Commemoration Committee, will begin at 10:30 am. The ceremony has been held annually to honour Rajiv Gandhi’s message of peace and unity across communities.
This year, senior advocate and former Union Minister Salman Khurshid will receive the Sadbhavana Award. Telangana MLC and TPCC President B. Mahesh Kumar Goud will hoist the Congress flag at the commemorative pole erected at the same location where Rajiv Gandhi had hoisted the party flag before beginning his yatra 35 years ago.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, and AICC In-charge Meenakshi Natarajan will attend as chief guests. The proceedings will be presided over by Minister for Civil Supplies and Irrigation N. Uttam Kumar Reddy.
Several senior Congress leaders and dignitaries are expected to participate in the commemoration. The event will feature tributes to Rajiv Gandhi’s legacy of inclusive progress and social harmony.
