Hyderabad: CCS Police seized 35 quintals of PDS rice being transported illegally in Bhupalpally on Wednesday morning. Police also registered a case against two men in connection with the seizure.
The accused were identified as Pavanapu Raju and Nalgonda Ramesh from CR Nagar in Bhupalpally town. Police said the duo was transporting the rice from Chelpur towards Bhupalpally in a Tata Ace vehicle.
Acting on credible information, CCS personnel intercepted the vehicle at Manjuru Nagar. Officers found 35 quintals of PDS rice inside the vehicle during the operation.
Police seized the rice along with the vehicle and registered a case against both accused. They later handed over the vehicle containing the seized rice to Bhupalpally Police Station.

The seizure followed information received by the CCS team about the alleged illegal transportation. Police are continuing further action in the case.
