Hyderabad: A youth was brutally murdered in Guntur district’s Chilavur village on Saturday, sending shockwaves through the area. The victim, identified as Prabhas from Vaddlapudi in Mangalagiri mandal, was attacked with swords by unidentified assailants.
Police said Prabhas had travelled to Chilavur for unknown reasons. He was ambushed and killed on arrival. The attackers fled immediately after the assault.
Officers reached the spot after receiving information, collected evidence, and shifted the body for post-mortem. CCTV footage from the area is being examined.
A case has been registered. Police said efforts are on to trace and arrest the culprits. The motive for the killing remains unclear. Investigators are also trying to determine why Prabhas had come to Chilavur.
