Hyderabad: A 19-year-old from Basara in Nirmal district died in a road accident on Saturday while riding home after celebrating Raksha Bandhan with his sister in Nizamabad.
The victim, Saibabu, travelled with his friend Aravind to Nizamabad on Saturday morning. He visited his sister, tied the rakhi, and promised to protect her. Later, the two started their return journey to Basara.
Crash on Basara highway
Near Jaggarao Farm on the Basara main road, Saibabu’s speeding scooter hit the rear of a lorry container. The impact caused severe head injuries, killing him on the spot. Aravind suffered minor injuries. Police shifted him to Nizamabad for treatment.
The deceased’s uncle lodged a complaint. Police booked a case and moved the body to the district general hospital for post-mortem after conducting a panchanama, SI K. Vinay said.
