Hyderabad: Borabanda murder shocked the city after a young woman was brutally killed in the Borabanda area, police said.
According to police, the victim had earlier worked at a pub where she became acquainted with a man identified as Zaheer. Recently, the woman joined another pub, following which she stopped communicating with him.
Police said Zaheer developed suspicion and resentment over the change. On the pretext of wanting to speak to her, he called the woman to meet him.
During the meeting, Zaheer allegedly attacked and killed her. After the murder, he dumped the body beside the wall of a nearby house and fled the spot.
Borabanda murder followed workplace acquaintance, say police
After family members noticed her absence, they approached the police and lodged a complaint. Based on the information, police teams rushed to the scene and launched a search.
Following preliminary investigation, police traced and took Zaheer into custody. Officers are questioning him to establish the sequence of events and the motive behind the murder.
Police said they were collecting further evidence and examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area. They added that more details would emerge as the investigation progressed.
