Officials suspended, charge memos issued in Yadadri temple coin irregularities

Hyderabad: Action followed in the temple coin irregularities case at the Yadadri Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, where the executive officer suspended two officials and issued charge memos to two others over missing temple coins.

Late on Friday night, Executive Officer Bhavani Shankar issued the orders. Additionally, Assistant Executive Officer Raghu Babu received a show-cause notice in connection with the same matter.

Temple coin irregularities probe leads to disciplinary action

Earlier, reports in a section of the media flagged missing gold and silver coins from the publicity section. Following this, the temple management constituted a committee to examine and analyse the irregularities. Subsequently, the committee verified records, checked physical stock, and submitted its report to the management.

Based on the findings, the Executive Officer suspended Junior Assistant P Ramachandra Shekar and Record Assistant T Lakshmi for negligence of duty. Meanwhile, Superintendents K Natraj and K Sitaramacharyulu received charge memos for poor supervision.

As a result, the temple coin irregularities drew widespread condemnation from various sections. Many, therefore, demanded stern action against those responsible. According to reports, 18 gold coins and 48 silver coins were missing. The issue surfaced after the accounts section noticed a mismatch between recorded totals and the physical stock in the publicity section. Meanwhile, the temple management initiated steps to recover the missing coins.
