Woman dies by suicide in Parigi after husband’s alleged harassment over cooking and education

Hyderabad: A 21‑year‑old woman died by suicide in Parigi mandal of Vikarabad district after alleged harassment by her husband over household work and education level.

According to police, Sirisha from Gangaram village in Dharur mandal married Sivalingam from Mallemonigudem. After marriage, she reportedly faced repeated harassment from her husband, who complained about her cooking and taunted her for being less educated.

Police said he later left her at her parental home. When she called him the next day, he allegedly told her he did not want her and asked her to “die there.” Upset by the harassment and the remark, Sirisha died by suicide.

Her parents lodged a complaint stating that their daughter took the extreme step due to her husband’s constant abuse. They demanded strict action against him. Police registered a case and initiated an investigation.
