Hyderabad: A woman police constable attempted suicide by jumping from the third floor of her apartment building in Padmavati Colony, Uppal, on Tuesday, reportedly due to family-related issues.
The constable, Pramila (32), belongs to the 2020 batch of the Telangana Police. Following the incident, residents alerted emergency services, and she was first shifted to City Neuro Hospital in Uppal.

Doctors later referred her to Yashoda Hospital for advanced treatment. Hospital sources said she was undergoing medical care, and her condition was being closely monitored.
Pramila lives in the apartment along with her husband, Balaji Naik, and their two children. Police sources said preliminary inquiry indicated family-related stress as the possible reason behind the suicide attempt.
The Uppal police registered a case and began an investigation into the incident. Officers said they were recording statements from family members and neighbours to ascertain the circumstances.
Pramila hails from Bibinagar Ravi Pahar Thanda in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district. However, the family has been residing in Uppal due to her posting in Hyderabad.
