Hyderabad: Minister Seethakka said Congress supporters began celebrations as the party neared victory in the Jubilee Hills bypoll. She stated that voters understood what each party did in the constituency and acted accordingly.
Seethakka targets BRS while speaking on Jubilee Hills bypoll trend
According to her, BRS failed to deliver during its decade in power. She said the party ran a false campaign that voters did not trust. The Minister added that Congress Ministers and workers stayed with the people throughout the campaign and earned strong support.
She described Congress candidate Naveen Yadav as a local BC leader who remained accessible to all. The Minister said BRS attempted to trigger a sentimental response but failed to convince voters. She added that even putting forward Maganti Gopinath’s wife and children did not shift public opinion.
Seethakka claimed that voters remembered the development carried out earlier by PJR. She also said K. T. Rama Rao’s “bulldozing” remark did not work. According to her, the Congress did not bulldoze anyone and only focused on solutions that served public interest. She cited the HydRa system as a measure designed to protect the city from flooding.
The Minister alleged that BRS did not develop Hyderabad and instead encouraged drugs, clubs and pubs. She said Chief Minister Revanth Reddy decided to end that culture. This, she added, pushed voters toward Congress. Welfare schemes such as fine rice, new ration cards and Indiramma houses worked in favour of the party and strengthened its campaign.
Seethakka said the Congress government’s performance influenced the voters’ decision. She argued that people rejected the BRS misinformation campaign and delivered a clear message through the bypoll result.
