Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Tuesday paid tributes to fallen soldiers at the Martyrs’ Memorial in Secunderabad. On the occasion, they marked Vijay Diwas at the Parade Grounds memorial.
Thereafter, the Governor and the Deputy Chief Minister honoured soldiers who laid down their lives for the nation. Meanwhile, officers from the Army, Navy and Air Force offered a ceremonial guard of honour.
Later, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka addressed the gathering. He said Vijay Diwas marked a proud moment in India’s history. At the same time, he recalled the courage shown by Indian soldiers in the 1971 war, which led to the liberation of Bangladesh.

Subsequently, Bhatti Vikramarka paid tributes to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. In addition, he honoured military commanders and soldiers who protected the nation’s dignity during the war.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy shared a message on X to mark Vijay Diwas. He said every citizen must remember the sacrifices made by soldiers in the 1971 war.
Further, the Chief Minister said the dedication and patriotism of the armed forces inspired future generations. Finally, he paid rich tributes to soldiers who attained martyrdom while defending the country.
