Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Wednesday urged voters to hand over the Vemulawada municipality to the BJP, promising that the party would secure Central funds and ensure comprehensive development.
Campaigning in the run-up to the municipal polls, Sanjay criticised the Congress-led state government for failing to allocate any funds to Vemulawada during its two-year rule. He said the state’s financial condition was deteriorating and accused Congress of deceiving the public with unfulfilled promises.
He also aimed the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, asking voters what justification remained for supporting the party after 10 years of what he called public exploitation.
Bandi Sanjay alleges threats to BJP workers in Vemulawada municipality
Expressing concern over the political atmosphere, Bandi Sanjay accused the sitting Vemulawada MLA of threatening BJP leaders and acting unilaterally. He alleged that local police were siding with the MLA rather than upholding the law and warned that the issue would be taken up with the Director General of Police and the district Superintendent if unchecked.
As part of his outreach, Sanjay addressed street-corner meetings at Nampally, Tippapur, Anjani Nagar and Mahankali Chowrasta in Vemulawada. He was accompanied by former minister Inugala Peddireddy, BJP Sircilla in-charge Meesala Chandraiah, district president Reddaboina Gopi, former district president Pratapa Ramakrishna, and state leader Chennamaneni Vikas Rao.
