Hyderabad: A Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) employee was arrested in the Tirupati drugs case after Renigunta Police seized 63 grams of methamphetamine, valued at around ₹3 lakh, from three accused.
Police identified the TTD employee as Rahul Yadav, a Junior Assistant at the Archaka Bhavan of Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple. He was among three persons arrested on July 10 in connection with the case.
Investigators alleged that the accused were supplying methamphetamine to engineering college students in and around Tirupati.
Tirupati drugs case probe widens
Police said they were expanding the investigation to identify others linked to the Tirupati drugs case. As part of the probe, officers are conducting bio-check tests on suspected drug users and tracking the wider drug supply network.
Officials said further investigation is underway to determine the source of the narcotics and identify additional individuals involved in the alleged distribution chain.
