Hyderabad: Traffic advisory is in force near Yousufguda after police announced traffic diversions for a Telangana State Police road safety programme scheduled today at the Shri Kotla Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy Indoor Stadium.
The programme, titled Arrive Alive – A Campaign for Safer Roads in Telangana, is expected to draw a large crowd. Police said many college students and members of the public would attend.
As a result, traffic congestion is likely around the stadium during the event hours. Therefore, the Hyderabad Traffic Police advised commuters to avoid roads leading towards the venue.
Accordingly, traffic restrictions and diversions will remain in force from 2.30 pm to 6 pm today.
Traffic advisory lists diversions and alternate routes
Traffic moving from Maitrivanam junction towards Yousufguda basti, Rahamathnagar, Karmikanagar, and Borabanda bus stop will divert at Yousufguda basti. Vehicles will move via Krishnakanth Park, GTS Temple, Kalyan Nagar, Mothi Nagar, and Borabanda bus stop.
Meanwhile, vehicles travelling from Maitrivanam junction towards Jubilee Hills checkpost through Yousufguda checkpost and Madhapur will also divert at Yousufguda basti. Motorists should use the RBI Quarters road, Krishna Nagar junction, and Jubilee Hills checkpost.
Similarly, traffic coming from Jubilee Hills checkpost and Venkatagiri towards the stadium will divert at Krishna Nagar junction. Vehicles will proceed towards Srinagar Colony and Panjagutta.
In addition, traffic from Borabanda bus stop heading towards Karmikanagar, Rahamathnagar, and Yousufguda checkpost will divert at Prime Garden Function Hall. Vehicles will pass through Sri Ram Nagar X Roads, Midland Bakery, GTS Colony, Kalyan Nagar junction, Vengalrao Nagar, Umesh Chandra statue U-turn, ICICI U-turn, and Maitrivanam junction.
For public convenience, police arranged parking at the TGSP Battalion Ground in Yousufguda. Finally, the Hyderabad Traffic Police urged citizens to follow the traffic advisory and cooperate with personnel on duty.
