HYDERABAD: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Mahesh Kumar Goud has come forward in support of former All India Congress Committee (AICC) in-charge Deepa Dasmunsi, dismissing recent media reports that accused her of neglecting party activities. In a statement released on Saturday, Goud described Dasmunsi as a dedicated, honest, and disciplined leader who has significantly contributed to strengthening the party. He condemned the allegations circulating in certain newspapers and broadcast media as baseless and warned that legal action would be pursued against those disseminating such unfounded claims.
Goud clarified that Dasmunsi, while serving as the AICC in-charge for Kerala, also held additional responsibilities in Telangana for a year. He explained that recent organizational changes within the AICC led to the appointment of Meenakshi Natarajan with full responsibilities for Telangana, allowing Dasmunsi to focus entirely on Kerala. Goud emphasized that this transition was a routine administrative decision and not a punitive measure.
Highlighting Dasmunsi’s esteemed political background as the spouse of the late Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi, Goud praised her integrity and commitment to the party. He urged media outlets to refrain from publishing unverified reports that could damage the reputations of dedicated party members.
