Hyderabad: A tipper crash on the Malakpet–Dilsukhnagar road caused a traffic snarl around 1 a.m. on Wednesday after the vehicle veered out of control and rammed into a bus and a lorry near Malakpet TV junction.
The tipper was travelling from Asmangadh towards Malakpet when it suddenly crossed the road divider and hit two vehicles. Fortunately, other motorists noticed the speeding truck in time and moved aside, preventing a major accident.
Soon after the collision, the tipper driver fled the scene. The crash halted traffic on both sides of the road, leading to heavy congestion in the early hours. Malakpet police reached the spot and cleared the road to restore normal flow.
Police investigate cause of tipper crash in Hyderabad
Officers registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident. They are examining whether the crash resulted from a brake failure or driver negligence. The vehicle will be inspected as part of the probe.
No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident. Police are trying to trace the absconding driver using CCTV footage from nearby locations.
