Telangana holds security meet; 24/7 Delhi control room set up for students

Hyderabad: A high-level security meeting, led by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, was held this evening at the state Secretariat as the Telangana government stepped up its internal security review amid ongoing cross-border tensions.

The meeting brought together senior cabinet ministers and top officials, including Rangareddy district in-charge minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, tourism minister Jupally Krishna Rao, Hyderabad in-charge minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, Special Chief Secretary to the CMO Jayesh Ranjan, and DGP Jitender. Police commissioners CV Anand (Hyderabad), Avinash Mohanty (Cyberabad), and Sudheer Babu (Rachakonda) were also in attendance.

The group reviewed immediate law and order measures and discussed strategies to protect critical infrastructure and public spaces. A mock defence drill was also evaluated as part of the preparedness efforts.

As part of its wider approach, the state has set up a control room at Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi to assist students and residents from Telangana who are living in border states. The aim is to keep them informed and reassured as the situation unfolds.

The Delhi control room is operating 24/7 and is manned by officials under the Resident Commissioner’s office. Key contact numbers have already been made available to the public.
