Telangana recognises Dharani operators as contract employees under TGIS, doubles pay

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has recognised field staff working under Terrasis as contract employees under the Telangana Geographic Information System (TGIS). It issued new orders confirming their upgraded status.

These workers had served as Dharani operators through the private agency Terrasis. Under the new order, they now hold the title of Field Technical Staff (FTS) within TGIS. Their monthly salary has increased from ₹12,000 to ₹28,148.

This decision offers long-awaited relief to hundreds who sought formal recognition and better wages. The government cleared the upgrade despite financial constraints, delivering it as a Dasara gift to the staff.

The FTS Association expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, IT Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy. They also thanked CCLA Lokesh Kumar, CMMRO PD Makarand, and JAC Chairman Latchireddy for supporting the move.
