Hyderabad: The State Election Commission on Tuesday announced the schedule for municipal elections in Telangana, covering 116 municipalities and 7 municipal corporations. This announcement marks the official commencement of the Telangana municipal polls process.
Polling will take place on February 11, with counting scheduled for February 13. The model code of conduct has come into immediate effect across the state, excluding the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) area. Importantly, the Telangana municipal polls will be conducted according to these timelines.

SEC issues notification; nominations to begin Jan 28
State Election Commissioner Rani Kumudini finalised the poll schedule following a video conference with district collectors, superintendents of police, the DGP, Chief Secretary, and other senior officials. The Telangana municipal polls are being closely monitored at all administrative levels.
Taking into account religious observances such as Maha Shivaratri and the start of Ramadan, the commission scheduled the nomination process to begin on January 28.

- Notification and Nominations Begin: January 28

There are 8,195 polling stations across the 123 urban local bodies. Polling will be conducted from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The total number of registered voters stands at 52.43 lakh.
