HYDERABAD: Seven newly elected Members of the Legislative Council (MLCs) were sworn in on Monday at the Telangana Legislative Council, marking a key moment of political representation across party lines. The oath of office was administered by Council Chairman G. Sukhender Reddy in his chamber.
Among the Telangana MLCs who took oath were three Congress leaders—Vijayashanti, Adanki Dayakar, and Shankar Nayak—who were elected unopposed under the MLA quota. Also taking oath was N. Satyam Shammal from the Communist Party of India (CPI).
Teachers and Graduates Constituencies Represented
In addition to the MLA quota members, three newly elected representatives from the Teachers and Graduates constituencies were sworn in. These included BJP candidates M. Kumaraiah and Anji Reddy, as well as Sripal Reddy, who was backed by the Progressive Recognised Teachers Union (PRTU).
The ceremony was attended by several prominent political figures. Present were Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy, Sridhar Babu, and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy from the Congress party. Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy and BJP MPs Raghunandan Rao and Dr K. Laxman also witnessed the swearing-in.
