Telangana legislators urged to donate a month’s pay to National Defence Fund

Hyderabad: In the wake of India’s military strikes on terrorist camps in Pakistan, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has proposed that all Members of the Legislative Assembly and Council donate a month’s salary to the National Defence Fund.

The suggestion, meant to show solidarity with the armed forces, was discussed earlier in the day between the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka. Acting on Revanth’s recommendation, Bhatti is now holding talks with Congress MLAs and MLCs to finalize the group’s contribution.

Deputy CM Bhatti is expected to officially announce the donation on behalf of the party’s legislators once those internal discussions are wrapped up.

At the same time, Revanth called on legislators from all parties to take part in the initiative, encouraging every MLA and MLC to voluntarily contribute a month’s salary in support of the country’s defence efforts.
