Hyderabad: On Thursday, the 12th of this month, Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Verma is scheduled to visit the Yadadri district. During this visit he will stop at Bhudan Pochampally, the town famed for its handloom and silk textiles.
During the visit, the Governor will hold an interactive session with local weavers to understand their issues, challenges, and the overall state of the weaving industry. Officials said the Governor is keen to hear directly from artisans who have long upheld the region’s rich textile tradition.
Following the interaction, the Governor is also scheduled to tour the tourism park in Bhudan Pochampally.
On Tuesday, Yadadri district Collector Hanumantha Rao personally reviewed the preparations for the Governor’s visit. Accompanied by Additional Collector Bhaskar Rao, the Collector held a meeting with senior officials to finalise the arrangements. All departments have been instructed to ensure foolproof security and seamless arrangements for the visit.
