Telangana to announce DA hike, new health scheme for govt staff on Formation Day

Hyderabad: In a major move ahead of Telangana’s Formation Day, the state government has decided to grant a Dearness Allowance (DA) hike to its employees. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is expected to make the official announcement during the June 2 celebrations.

Alongside the DA hike, the Chief Minister is also likely to address long-pending issues, including the disbursement of arrears and retirement benefits.

The Telangana Formation Day event is also likely to see the launch of a new health insurance scheme exclusively for government employees. The new scheme aims to provide wider and more reliable medical coverage.

The government had earlier constituted a three-member panel to study employees’ demands and resolve longstanding grievances. This committee, which has held several rounds of discussions with employee unions, has reportedly accepted some of the key demands.

According to officials, the panel is preparing to submit its final report to CM Revanth Reddy within the next couple of days. Once approved by the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary A. Ramakrishna Rao will issue necessary orders for its implementation.
