Telangana adds 65 new electric buses to Hyderabad fleet

Hyderabad: Telangana launched 65 new electric buses in Hyderabad on Tuesday, expanding the city’s eco-friendly public transport fleet under the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC).

The new vehicles, operated by Eveytrans, were flagged off at a formal event held at the Ranigunj Bus Depot. The launch ceremony was attended by Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Hyderabad Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, TGSRTC Managing Director Y. Nagireddy, and other dignitaries, including local representatives and transport officials.

The induction of these electric buses is part of TGSRTC’s ongoing strategy to promote sustainable urban transport and reduce air pollution in Hyderabad. With this addition, the corporation aims to improve energy efficiency and provide commuters with clean and reliable mobility options.

TGSRTC already operates several electric buses on key routes across the city. The expanded fleet is expected to enhance service frequency and contribute to a greener transit system.
