Hyderabad: Telangana digital governance will be shaped by emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, quantum computing and blockchain, IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu said on Friday.
He was speaking at a session titled “Agents of Change: AI for Government Services and Climate Resilience” during the India AI Impact Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The Minister said the State was positioning technology as a central driver of transformation under its Telangana Rising 2047 vision.
Telangana digital governance anchored in AI-led transformation
Sridhar Babu said the government was integrating advanced technologies with citizen services to reduce administrative gaps and improve delivery systems. According to him, the objective was to make governance more efficient, transparent and accessible.
He listed several initiatives designed to advance Telangana digital governance. These included Bharat Future City, AI City, AI University, AIKAM, the AI-driven Telangana Digital Exchange and Bhu Bharati. He said these platforms would strengthen the State’s digital architecture and support long-term institutional reforms.
In addition, the Minister stressed the importance of inclusive innovation. He said the government was examining the use of Agentic AI to ensure that technological progress benefits all sections of society. He added that policymakers were assessing frameworks that balance innovation with accountability.
Furthermore, Sridhar Babu said Telangana was expanding technology deployment across agriculture, climate resilience and healthcare. The State was also applying digital tools to sustainable urban development, clean energy initiatives and disaster management systems.
He stated that integrating advanced technologies into governance structures would help Telangana build resilient public systems and improve service outcomes across sectors.
