Speaking at the event, Anand said authorities had taken several measures to curb drug trafficking. He also stressed that the police were pursuing a strict approach against narcotics.
The DGP said the Central government had set December 31, 2029, as the target for making India drug-free. Accordingly, authorities planned various programmes and strategies to achieve that goal. He warned that narcotics posed serious health risks and continued to spread across the country. Therefore, he called for greater public awareness and stronger anti-drug efforts.
Anand said the motorcycle rally had begun in different states five to six days earlier. Participants from five states had joined the campaign. After five days on the road, the rally reached Hyderabad on Saturday. Meanwhile, seven riders from Telangana were preparing to join the procession.
